- Wrist Strap Holes
Charge the Controller
You need a USB Type-C charger to charge the controller. The Daydream View doesn’t come with one.
The charging station may differ from place to place.
The input voltages for this power supply and wall socket are AC 100V-240 V. Its output is DC 5V.
Make sure to charge your controller using a Google-branded USB cable. If you’re not sure which one to buy, just get any generic brand.
It takes up to two hours for your Daydream controller to fully recharge.
The Google Store has chargers and cables for sale.
A Wrist Strap Can Be Attached
- Insert the short end of the longer cable into the smaller one. Then push the long end through the larger one.
- Pull the looped leather strap through the loop on one end of the longer cord.
- To adjust the strap, pull it out until it fits comfortably around your wrist.
You don’t have to turn off your controller when you leave VR. If you want to conserve battery life, just let it go into sleep mode.
You cannot remove the battery. Do NOT attempt to open the control panel.
Adjust the Daydream View Headphone
To get a better fit for your headphones, adjust them.
To adjust the length of the earpiece, hold the top part of the earpiece and slide the plastic rings. You can wear glasses while wearing headphones.
To adjust the fit, move the straps up or down. They shouldn’t cover your ear holes. You should place the headset comfortably on your head and face.
Update the Controller (If Needed)
The controller may require an update. If so the controller will contact you immediately after the phone detects the NFC tags.
It’s simple: Long press the Home key on your controller, and then follow the on-screen directions. The entire procedure should take no longer than a few minutes.
If everything is in order, there’s no reason for you to worry about this step. However, you may want to consider doing it later.
How Can I Turn on the Daydream Controller?
- For Android 7.0 devices
- Go into the settings menu on your phone.
- Click Bluetooth under “Wireless and Networks”.
- Tap Settings from the Home screen of the paired device.
- Tap Forget.
- Open Daydream. Settings.
- Tap Controller Pair the new controller.
- Pressing the Daydream icon will pair your phone with Google’s VR headset.
Force Daydream VR Compatibility (Systemless Mod)
If you follow these steps, you’ll need to install Magisk instead of SuperSU. Make sure you’ve already got Magisk set up.
You’ll need to create your own Magisk Module for each Android phone you want to use.
First, you must download this template and extract its contents. Then, you’ll want to use either Vim or Nano.
Step 1
You first want to copy out your own handheld_core.xml file, which can be done by simply copying it out of system\etc\permissions.
Copy this text to your computer. Go to the Magisk module templates directory and enter the “system” subdirectory.
Create a new folder named etc inside your current working directory (the folder where you’re currently writing code). Then, name that folder permissions. Finally, create another folder inside permissions named permissions.
Inside your permissions folder, you want to create a new directory called handheld_core_hardwares. You then want to place your handheld_core_hw.xml inside that directory. Your directory structure should look like this.
Step 2
Open your handheld_core_config.xml and add these new settings before closing that and returning to the root of your magisk module template folder.
Step 3
For the rest, just read the instructions on the GitHub repository for naming your module and creating a unique name for it.
After doing everything else, run the config.bat file, then install the new ROM from the.zip file you just flashed, and also install this Magisk Module which changes your build.prop.
Conclusion
