    Gaming – Xbox

Since its original launch, Xbox has come out with many different consoles and games. It has also launched its Cloud gaming service.

However, Microsoft’s naming conventions can make it confusing to find the right Xbox.

In this article, we will tell you everything you need to know about the Xbox.

Do you go for the current generation Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S?

Or are the Xbox One revisions still worth it?

    Quick Summary

In this post, we will go over:

    • Which Xbox should you get?
    • What is Xbox Cloud Gaming?
    • What games should I play?

    …and more.

So, without further ado, let’s get started.

    What Xbox Should You Get?

    Xbox One

Xbox came out 9 years ago. Although it had a rocky start, Microsoft was able to save it thanks to one of the most game-changing innovations, the Xbox Game Pass.

So, is it still worth it in 2022?

Even now, it has a lot of support from gamers. Microsoft is also still dropping cross-gen games onto it like Halo Infinite and Forza Horizon 5

However, with so many new consoles entering the market, this support won’t last too long.

Unless you’re operating on an extremely tight budget or if you simply don’t care about 4K graphics, there’s no good reason to buy the original Xbox One.

With that being said, even if you do want a cost-effective console, there are better options you can go with.

    Xbox One S

There is not a lot of difference between the original Xbox One and Xbox One S beside the design.

Microsoft managed to shirk it down to 40% of the original box. They also removed the bulky power supply in order to refine the design.

One notable change is that it has an ultra HD Blu-ray player, making it a cheap entry point for 4K film collectors.

We suggest going with Xbox One S if you want something affordable but with good graphics.

    Xbox One X

Xbox One X is a good mid-generation console.

The biggest upgrade with Xbox One X is the graphics and performance. You can play games in 4K with HDR support.

Therefore, if you want a powerful console on a budget, you can go with this one.

However, we do suggest you save up a little more and jump to the Xbox Series S for a better gaming experience.

    Xbox Series X

Xbox Series X is a great alternative to the PlayStation 5. It’s also one of the best consoles Microsoft has put out.

While testing it out, we found the console quite impressive. It has great specs, 4K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 120fps gameplay.

It’s easily comparable to a high-end PC but without the price tag. However, it’s important to note that you’ll need a suitable TV or monitor to get the best out of it.

Although it’s cheaper than a high-end PC, it still costs considerably more than the other Xbox consoles. But, we think it’s worth it for what you’re getting.

    Xbox Series S

This gaming console was designed for affordability and reliability. It retails for half of the price of the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.

Cost-wise, it’s a great bargain. But it does with some compromises.

The most significant one is that you won’t be able to natively play games in 4K. But, if you have a 4K TV, it will upscale from 1440p.

Moreover, it has considerably less storage. However, this is also fixable using a Seagate Expansion Card.

    What is Xbox Cloud Gaming?

    What is Xbox Cloud Gaming?

If you’re interested in buying an Xbox, you must also know what Xbox Cloud Gaming is and how it works.

Simply put, it is a subscription service that allows you to access a variety of games on different devices.

This way, you don’t have to download the game and you can stream them directly to your device. All you really need is a stable internet connection.

The biggest advantage of this service is that it helps save up storage. So, if you have an Xbox Series S and you’re worried about the storage, you can just get yourself an Xbox Game Pass to enjoy any game you want.

It is also supported by most gaming devices including Apple and Android phones and tablets.

So, how do you access this service?

Xbox Cloud gaming is only accessible through an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription.

You can get it for $14.99 a month. We think this is a great deal since it comes with Xbox Live Gold and gives you access to the full Game Pass Library.

Once you buy the subscription, you can start gaming right away.

For Xbox Series S and X, you’ll have to go to the Xbox Game Pass library on the home screen. From there you can find the games market with the cloud tag to use this feature.

If you game on your PC, you can access Cloud game through the Xbox app. You’ll also need to sign into your Microsoft account for this.

    What Games Should I Play?

Now that you know everything about Xbox Cloud Gaming, you might be wondering what games to play.

Xbox Cloud Gaming has a sizeable library of games including genres such as real-time strategy (RTS), simulation and sports, action-adventure, shooters, and so on.

So, the game you choose depends on your preference.

Some of our favorite games are:

    • Forza Horizon 5
    • Among Us
    • Life is Strange True Colors
    • Halo Infinite
    • Guardians of the Galaxy
    • Mass Effect Legendary Addition

You will also be pleased to know that if you have a Microsoft account on your PC, mobile or tablet you can play Fortnite for free without any membership.

All you need to do is ensure you have a stable internet connection and access Cloud via browser.

So, the question remains, which Xbox console is the best for you?

Well, this comes down to your personal taste, and thankful you have many options to choose from.

Moreover, Xbox Cloud Gaming provides a solid alternative to downloading games to save storage. It’s one of the top streaming platforms on the market that you can use on any gaming device.
