If you’ve been using Android Auto for more than a week, you probably already realize that any changes you make to your phone could potentially break down the Android Auto experience.
Android Auto BreakDown
Of course, these issues raise serious questions about Android Auto’s reliability, but at the moment there isn’t any solution available for them.
MIUI Update
After releasing an MIUi update for their smartphones, Xiaomi has broken down Google’s Android Auto completely, because it doesn’t run anymore even if it should.
At this stage, if someone wants to use an Android Auto-capable car stereo with a Xiaomi smartphone, they need to either wait until the company rolls out a fix or switch to another brand of Android Auto-compatible vehicle audio equipment.

Google’s Response
After receiving complaints, Google looked into the issue in late September. It took them several months to investigate the bug because they couldn’t replicate it internally. They asked for user feedback to help determine what happened.
Google Reached Out to Xiaomi
Recently, a Xiaomi user reported that they had issues connecting their phone to Android Auto.
However, according to the Android Auto team, the problem wasn’t caused by the application itself but rather by an issue with the car manufacturer’s infotainment system.
It seems that Google has contacted Xiaomi to help them figure out how to fix Android Auto, so at the moment, the phone manufacturer themselves is the one you should contact if you want to know how to fix Android Auto on their phones.
When Full Fix Is to Be Released?
There is no way to know when a full fix for the MIUI 10.0.1 update will land, so Xiaomi customers have nothing else but to sit tight and hope for the best.
If you haven’t yet installed MIUI on your phone, wait until a little later before installing it. You may want to install Android Auto first.
