It’s a common issue these days that modern laptops (and some desktops) don’t have enough ports – but CloudBoxx is offering a solution.
They’re releasing an 8-in-1 desktop hub which can be attached to your computer through Kickstarter.
Cloudboxx: What’s Inside the Modular 8-In-1 Desktop Hub
Most people are likely familiar with USB and Thunderbolt hubs, making them an extremely practical tool for expanding the limited selection of ports on modern notebooks or for providing more and better accessible ports on a desktop PC.
Features
The CloudBoxx, an exciting USB hub, is about to be launched on Kickstarter and has the capability for much more. For example, it holds up to 16 ports in a slim and white case and is a modular 8-in-1 desktop hub.
The front hosts two USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 3 (40 Gbit/s), one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A and one Gen 1, a microSD card reader, an SD card reader, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

At the back, there are four HDMI 2.0 ports capable of 4K resolution, two of which refresh at 60 Hz and two at 30 Hz.
This device is finished off with an RJ-45 network port and a USB-C port offering 100 watts of power delivery on the sides.
That’s already a lot. However, what makes the CloudBoxx so unique is its modular design, allowing you to easily expand by adding more modules at the top and bottom of the hub.
Modular Design of CloudBoxx
As an extra feature, you can add up to 10-watt wireless charging pads to the CloudBoxx which can charge a maximum of three devices.
Additionally, there is a Bluetooth speaker with touch controls and a dust-proof design or a small LED light that can be used as a bedside table lamp or ambient lighting.
For instance, some more modules include a cardholder with seven angled compartments, a pen holder that can store up to 10 pens or pencils, and even a flower pot to liven up any office or living space. With this modular hub, you still have plenty of choices for various usages.
Price and Availability
The CloudBoxx fundraising campaign on Kickstarter has surpassed its original goal of 4,714 euros. Currently, 254 backers have contributed a total of 28,000 euros with 19 days left in the campaign.
The CloudBoxx can be secured via the Super Early Bird offer for a minimum price of 94 euros or 99 US dollars. You can also get bundled offers of two and five-hub modules, all of which have their modules included in the final price.
